About ATS CV Checker

Why we built this

Most job applications today are read by software before a human ever sees them. An Applicant Tracking System (ATS) parses your resume, checks it against the job description, and ranks it — often rejecting qualified candidates simply because of a formatting quirk or a missing keyword. We built ATS CV Checker because that filtering step is largely invisible to job seekers, and the tools that claim to explain it are frequently paywalled, backend-heavy, or vague about what they actually check.

Our goal is simple: give anyone, in any field — not just software engineers — a free, instant, honest read on how ATS-friendly their resume is, along with specific, actionable fixes.

How it's different

ATS CV Checker runs entirely in your browser. There is no backend server processing your resume, no database storing your file, and no account required. Your PDF or DOCX is read locally using PDF.js and Mammoth.js, analyzed with a transparent, rule-based scoring model — keyword match, ATS formatting, content quality, required sections, and readability — and the result never leaves your device. You can read exactly how the scoring works and what each category means on our ATS CV Checker page.

What we believe

  • Career tools shouldn't require you to hand over your resume to a stranger's server to get useful feedback.
  • An ATS score is only useful if you can see why you got it — vague “grades” without explanations aren't helpful.
  • Resume advice should work for every field, not just tech roles.

What we don't do

We don't connect to real recruitment ATS platforms (Workday, Greenhouse, Taleo, or similar), and we don't guarantee interview outcomes — see our Terms of Service for the full picture. Our score is an estimate based on publicly known, common ATS practices, meant to catch the mistakes that most often cause real rejections: missing sections, weak keyword coverage, and formatting that parsers can't read.
